APS and CNM Student Awards: The APS/CNM Users Meeting offers great opportunities for students to gain special recognition for their work at Argonne's user facilities.

---STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD--DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS MARCH 31

Student travel support is available for undergraduate and graduate student users of either the CNM or the APS from non-local educational institutions may apply for financial support up to $500 per student to cover travel-related expenses (transportation and lodging).

Eligible candidates must be presenting a poster at the Poster Session, Tues., May 8. Travel award recipients will be selected by the user organizations of the APS and CNM. If selected, be aware you must provide original receipts for any/all travel expenses.

To apply, please submit (in the registration form) a student statement (2000 characters or less) and a letter of support from your advisor. The documents  can be uploaded to the registration form any time before midnight, March 31.

---STUDENT INVITED TALK

Each facility will award a Student Invited Talk (prize includes free registration and social event ticket): Students may choose to have their poster abstract considered for conversion to a brief  invited brief talk during the facility plenary session. Winners may present a poster in addition to the talk, if they wish, but they will not be eligible for poster prizes. Candidates must submit their abstract and a CV via their Cvent registration record.

---STUDENT POSTER PRIZES

All student posters (except those selected for talks) will be considered for $100 cash prizes. Winners will be recognized at an appropriate session during the meeting. Each facility will award prizes.

 

The APSUO Rosalind Franklin Young Investigator Award

The nominations period is now closed.

The APSUO Rosalind Franklin Young Investigator Award to recognize an important scientific or technical accomplishment by a young investigator (senior graduate student or within two years of his or her PhD. degree) that was accomplished at or strongly beneficial to the APS.

The award, which consists of a plaque and a monetary award of $1000, will be presented at the 2018 Users Meeting. The recipient of the award will also be asked to present a talk on his/her research in the APS plenary session.
